Park Sang-jin, CEO of Naver Pay "Payments occur at 100 million won per minute"

CEO Park mentioned three strategies as an expansion roadmap: △advancement of alternative credit evaluation △ comparison, recommendation and differentiation of financial products optimized for user needs and characteristics △ Naver Pay securities and real estate information and community personalization.

"We will upgrade Naver Pay's alternative credit rating, which was introduced in credit loans for online operators for the first time in the industry, and apply it to various financial products," CEO Park said. "This is a 'data intelligence' new business that differentiates affiliated financial products and will be considered as Naver Pay's core technological competitiveness."

The plan is to develop alternative credit ratings so that businesses with short or low sales can use loans. Naver Pay's cumulative loans of smart store business loans, launched from 2020 in partnership with Mirae Asset Capital, Woori Bank and IBK Industrial Bank of Korea, amounted to 220 billion won, and 25% of loan customers were operators with less than a year of experience.

It will also seek ways to port Naver's generative AI to financial services. When you ask a question about real estate in the search box, Naver's generative AI search "CUE:" answers based on Naver Pay's real estate sales information and then connects to the comparison of mortgage loans. Naver Pay will research and develop Naver's generative AI utilization plan for MyData-based financial services and orders and payments.

In the payment sector, it plans to enter China, Japan and Taiwan in partnership with Alipay Plus and BC Card-Union Pay in the second half of the year. Naver Pay money and point payment methods will be added to South Korea's Samsung Pay MST on-site payment service, and a prepaid card dedicated to Naver Pay will also be released. According to Naver Pay, the current payment amount per minute is 110 million won.
